On November 10, 2021, the Mu Nu Chapter hosted its annual Achievement Week Program at the Silver Spring Civic Center located in Silver Spring, Maryland with over 110 men of Omega in attendance. Over eighteen African American male students were recognized for their outstanding achievement in academics with $12,000 in scholarships awarded and $5,000 awarded to the George B. Thomas, Sr. Learning Academy.
Additionally, Mu Nu Chapter awarded its Omega Man of the Year Award to Bro. Kelvin K. Ampofo, 37th 2nd District Representative who was also the keynote speaker for the evening. The Chapter also awarded the Founders Award to Bro. Dr. Adam E. McKee Jr., former 1st Vice Grand Basileus and the 16th 2nd District Representative, Additional awards issued included the Citizen of the Year to Rev. Matthew Watley, Kingdom Fellowship AME Church, Businessperson of the Year to Bro. Ben A. Skyles, Jr., Outstanding Educator Award to Dr. Monifa B. McKnight, Interim Superintendent, Montgomery County Md. Public Schools, Impactful Religious Leader/Clergy to Bro. Glenn Grayer, Superior Service to Bro. Dr. Lorenzo Prillman and the Col. Charles Young Military Leadership Award to Bro. Dr. CDR. Harry Marshall (USA, Ret). The Basileus of the chapter, Bro. Gabriel Brown recognized several brothers within the Chapter for their dedication and commitment to the chapter and the community. Mu Nu Chapter has served the community of Montgomery County, Maryland for over Fifty-One (51) years.
